Aspire EP RTF w/Radio, Battery &
Charger - Hanger 9
Key Features
Ready to fly in minutes
E-flite ESC, 1500mAh Ni-Cd battery and fast charger included
Genuine Hangar 9 UltraCote
3 channel radio included
Overview
Hangar 9's Aspire™ EP has opened a whole new world of soaring
excitement for modelers everywhere by giving them a beautifully
crafted electric-powered sailplane that goes together in about three
hours. With the introduction of the new ready-to-fly version of the
Aspire EP, all that's left for a modeler to do now is install the
transmitter batteries, bolt on the tail, slide together the wing
halves, charge the included Ni-Cd battery, and fly!
The only marked differences between the standard Aspire EP and the
ready-to-fly version are the factory-installed radio and bolt-on
tail. Everything else is identical, from the excellent balsa/ply
structure to the artful use of transparent violet UltraCote® in the
trim scheme on the wings. The use of UltraCote to cover the Aspire
EP RTF will make repairs easy, not to mention practically invisible,
by al lowing
modelers to match colors exactly with UltraCote from their local
hobby shop.
The Aspire EP RTF is, without a doubt, the most thoroughly equipped
RTF electric sailplane ever. Complete assembly takes less than an
hour. Control is provided by Hitec's reliable Focus 3 single-stick
RC system. The same 550-type electric motor and folding prop
combination that's found on the standard Aspire EP is included in
the RTF. Regulating the power to the motor is E-Flite's
sophisticated Maxx 25 proportional electronic speed controller.
Hangar 9™ has even thrown in a 6-cell, 1500mAh sport battery pack
and 30-minute fast charger. Everything is in place and ready to use.
There is practically nothing left for the modeler to provide other
than 8 "AA" batteries for the transmitter.Inspiring flight
performance.
The Aspire EP RTF will easily offer 8- to 10-minute motor run times
with the included 6-cell sport pack. The actual flight times will
depend on just how good one is at fishing for thermals. Fortunately,
if things are uncomfortably calm, the powerful 550 motor can prevent
any impromptu safaris into the weeds. In calm conditions with the
power on and a full charge, the Aspire EP RTF will climb at about a
20-degree angle. Cut the power, and the Aspire EP will settle into a
nice gentle glide slope that can take the plane quite a ways with
sufficient altitude. Stall behavior, even in turns, is very tame.
The plane practically recovers itself. Turns are neutrally stable.
Just feed in enough rudder to achieve the desired turn rate and then
release the rudder and use elevator to maintain the circle. This
will be nice for first timers since it will allow them to focus on
hanging on to the lift rather than struggling to stay in the turn.
There is no question that the Aspire EP RTF will bring a lot more
people into the sport of R/C soaring, and we bet it brings in just
as many first timers to R/C aviation in general. Its mild stall
behavior and solid stability, coupled with its completely
ready-to-fly simplicity, make it a fantastic trainer choice too.
Whatever the reasons, those with great aspirations to fly will find
Hangar 9's Aspire EP RTF a fantastic way to get started.

Mini Funtana 3D - E-Flite
Rock-solid harriers. Stable torque rolls.
Waterfalls...blenders...parachutes...all the aerobatic maneuvers
imaginable. And doing it electric style.
The new Mini Funtana 3D EP ARF from E-flite™ is an extraordinary
aerobatic performer designed especially for park flyer pilots
who prefer flying electric. It’s tightly constructed from
lightweight balsa and plywood. The ARF includes carbon fiber
landing gear, fiberglass cowl and wheel pants. It’s the same
level of materials and craftsmanship that goes into our Hangar 9
brand, but at a lower price point than competitive products.
And, like the Hangar 9 FuntanaS™ 3D performers, the E-flite
version flies like a dream with unlimited potential to perform
any aerobatics an experienced electric pilot can conjure up. The
Funtana EP’s low wing loading and finely engineered tapered
constant-thickness airfoil produce excellent slow-speed

Miss Hyperion - Hyperion
Drive at high speed on Snow, Grass or on the Water... Then blow
away the spectators with climbing rolls into the sky till she's
almost out of site!
The Miss Hyperion Hydro is tough, and fast! During the Miss HP
design process, we tested a number of similar products on the
market. We found that other hydro tend to follow the motto:
"lightest weight, no matter the cost!" As a result, other Hydro
are typically powered by a small motor of about 30 grams, which
is pushed two (or even three!) times past its efficient
operating amperage range. Also, these "light" Hydro we tested
made extensive use of non-reinforced 3.0mm depron sheets.
These other Hydro end up with "all up" weight savings of 20g~60g
compared to the Miss Hyperion Hydro. But (and this is a BIG
but!) the average pilot will destroy the models within a few
flights, and even the best "3D" pilots find the model falling
apart within the first 15 flights or so. The little motors,
highly overstressed, also tend to "cook" if you aren't very
careful.
And most importantly, these "light at all costs" Hydro simply
can't go very fast, on grass or on the water. Even small
obstacles on the ground or chop on the water will break the
sponsons and tear up the depron. What good is a Hydro that can't
go fast, we thought! Who wants a model that is falling apart
from the beginning!
Instead, we chose 5.0mm depron, with hard-shell plastic coating
on one side. The shell coating faces the areas which suffer
impact damage most, such as the bottom of the sponsons. Then we
added a thin, yet tough, full color decal on the opposite sides,
and TWIN 3.0mm Carbon tubes for lateral support of the sponsons.
The result is the most rigid, toughest, fastest, baddest Hydro
on the market - at a very resonable weight increase.
To make the Miss Hyperion Hydro not only the toughest on the
market, but also the fastest and most powerful, we choose the
Hyperion Z2209-26 motor and Hyperion Titan 20A brushless
controller. We suggest the Hyperion LVX-0800-3S battery pack for
most users, or the LVX1200-3S for those who want mainly
high-speed water and air performance. This motor and controller
weigh a bit more than other "minimal" Hydro powerplants, but
provide more power at any current level, more efficiency, and
are RELIABLE.
Now, about weight... Is it necessary to sacrifice everything for
lightest possible weight? NO! Let's look at the specs: With
all-up flying weight of 12oz (340g) max, and flying area of 256
square inches, the Miss Hyperion has a wingloading of only
6.75oz/sq ft! If you can't "3D" with that, its time for new 3D
thumbs!
And for those of you who want speed performance on land, water,
and in the air there is clearly no better choice than the Miss
Hyperion. It is really something to watch when it goes screaming
by on the water (whap, whap, whap on the waves), then whips
around the end-pylon turn for another lap! A few laps to get
onlooker's interest is recommended, then a graceful lift off to
high-speed flight. Blows em' away, every time!
The Miss Hyperion Hydro is set up with 3 degrees up-thrust in
the motor mount by default. This is ideal for running on grass,
as it keeps the sponson tips up and avoids "plowing". Flight
attitude in this case is regulated using the throttle, and
flight speeds are low with nose-high "3D" attitude.
For high-speed flight or water running, the bottom slots for the
motor mount plate are just opened a bit, to allow re-postioning
for "0" thrust line (no up, no down thrust). This is covered in
the assembly guide.
Another discovery we made while flying Miss Hyperion prototypes
is that most Hydro have the motor mount too far back. A rearward
"CG" balance point makes the model difficult to control, and
limits perfomance on the water as well. The Miss Hyperion Hydro
"cockpit" which holds the motor mount is far enough forward that
the motor can mount inside the model for park/grass/3D fliers
(or even water), or the motor can be backmounted outside the
model (as pictured) for additional stability on the water or
during traditional high-speed flight.
The Miss HP motor mount is also placed high enough that you can
use 8" props even on the water. The final advantage of the Miss
Hyperion cockpit design is that its large volume and
high/forward position act as a float if the Hydro flips on the
water, and thereby keeps the electronics inside the boat free
from water damage. Carry a can of light oil spray to flush the
motor in case it should get wet.

P-51D Mustang 25 - Hyperion
The Hyperion Mustang P-51D "25" is the first in a series of
models which define a new class. Hyperion saw a need for larger
models with wingspan of about 1.2 meters (47" ~52") which are
designed from the ground up with electric flight in mind, and
which sacrifice nothing in scale detail, accessories, and
quality of finish.
This size of model is easiest to classify as "engine 25 size",
simply because no clear rating system exists for larger electric
models. In fact, we realized after flying the Mustang that it's
light - but that it is also rugged. So we added two mounts to
the kits. One is for Brushless Outrunners like the recommended
Z3025-08 (or AXI 2826 series), and the other fits 0.25 ci glow
engines, in case that's your preference...
This kit has a fiberglass fuse and built up wing making it very
light. The paint job is fantastic and the panel lines and rivet
holes throughout the fuse really set it off.
This kit comes with:
Beautifully made metal retracts
Purpose built aluminium Mustang spinner
All the hardware need to complete the kit
The P51 is now available in an Olive colour scheme.
What we love best about this Mustang is the combination of sweet
manners (often not the case with Mustangs!) and wide speed
envelope. With the Z3025-08 and a 10x7 prop she has good speed
and plenty of thrust for large loops, but barely uses 340W
maximum power. You could use a battery as small as HP-LVX2100-3S
with this setup. But we recommend the HP-LVX2500-3S or
HP-LVX3300-3S instead, for longer duration when you use the APC
"E" 10x10 prop. With this setup the P-51 still slows down nicely
when requested, but is also capable of blazing-fast low passes
and absolutely HUGE loops.

YAK 55SP - Hyperion
In terms of size, the YAK-55SP "10e" can be related to "Engine
10" class models, but the little "e" means it is 100% electric.
Designed from the "ground up" around the extremely powerful
Hyperion Z3007-26 motor, you have to experience the performance
yourself to believe it. "Unlimited Vertical" has to be
re-defined!
Also available as a combo woth Motor, Speed Controller, Prop
Adaptor and Gold Bullet Plugs
The Hyperion YAK-55SP "10e" is perhaps the most faithfully scale
small aerobatic model today. Constructed of hand-picked light
balsa and ply, the fuselage, wing, and tail group carefully
follow the lines of the full-size Russian aerobat. The hand
painted fiberglass cowl is simply... a work of art: YAK55
louvers are molded in, and the paint and striping are a perfect
color match to the model covering. The prepainted super-clear
canopy is already mounted on a wood frame, with neodymium
magnets installed for retention to the fuselage (sorry, nothing
for you to do here either!).
In order to please the 3D enthusiasts, Hyperion designers
skillfully increased the aileron, elevator, and rudder surface
area a great deal, in such a way that it actually enhances the
purposeful (almost Vicious!) aerobatic look of the YAK55.
Showing up at the field with this model is almost as fun as
flying it, when your buddies crowd around to get a peek...
"Unlimited Vertical" has to be
re-defined!
With an 8g micro receiver, 7-gram servos, and the Hyperion
LVX1200-3S 20C lithium battery, and Z3007-26 power set, our
YAK-55SP weighs in at 651 grams (23.25 oz). This very light
weight coupled with generous wing area and extremely rigid
construction lend the YAK-55SP an extremely wide performance
envelope, from 3D Maneuvers to high-speed, Big Sky Aerobatics.
It is a blast to fly!

Joker - Canterbury Sailplanes
This is the model that started the 3D craze here in NZ. After
not being able to source an EPP indoor 3D model from overseas, I
set about creating the Joker with Brett Cudby (he did most of
the designing while I stood around supplying money and coffee).
A quick trip down to Christchurch, Brett and I met up with Dave
from CS, and with a lot of help from Sean McCurrie, the Joker
was born.

Titan-10 |
It is the most fun you can have from a $90 airplane. It will
take amazing amounts of abuse and bounce back. Its natural
flying position is a hover, so if you thought that you'd never
be able to hover, then this is the plane for you.
Power with the Axi 2208/34 on either 2 or 3 lithium’s and a
10x4.7 slowflyer prop and be prepared for some serious fun (plus
it will improve your flying skills no end).

BRIO 10 ARF - E-Flite
Key Features
Designed for artistic aerobatics—a blend of 3D and precision
aerobatics
Fuselage shape provides excellent side lift for knife edge
flight
Wide body fuselage design provides better down line speed
management
Low aspect ratio wing moves the center of lift closer to the
fuselage
Outstanding aileron authority for blazing-fast roll rates
Superb, locked-in flight characteristics—flies exactly where you
point it
Lightweight balsa and light ply construction
Includes painted fiberglass cowl, aluminum landing gear and
painted fiberglass wheel pants
Overview
If anybody knows what precision feels like, 3-time World
Champion and 2-time US Champion Quique Somenzini certainly does.
And he has poured all this experience into the design of the
Brio 10—a 10-size replica that even flies the same as the F3A
plane he used to win the 2005 US Nats. At the heart of its
performance is a low aspect ratio wing that moves the center of
lift closer to the fuselage. The result is an electric pattern
plane with outstanding roll rates and a locked-in feel that will
give you the confidence to fly artistic aerobatics with absolute
precision.
Here are just a few of the many features that you'll find when
you buy a Brio 10 from E-flite:
Factory Painted Fiberglass Parts and Aluminum Landing Gear
The Brio 10 comes with expertly painted fiberglass parts such as
the cowl and wheel pants. Tough, lightweight aluminum landing
gear is also included.
Quality Construction and Large Control Surfaces
The Brio 10 is built from the best balsa and light-ply
materials, then covered in genuine Hangar 9® UltraCote®. Its
generously proportioned control surfaces give it extraordinary
responsiveness.
Magnetic Canopy Hatch
The Brio 10’s handy magnetic canopy hatch stays securely in
place without screws or tape.
Carbon Fiber Stiffeners
Part of the Brio 10’s outstanding precision comes from carbon
fiber stiffeners on the elevator that virtually eliminate flex.
Whether you desire aggressive 3D or high-speed F3A-type
maneuvers, the Brio 10 will fly exactly where it’s pointed,
flight after flight, without needing constant trim adjustments.

BRETT SAYS: I've built and owned one of these gliders. It flys
fantastically and you have to keep reminding yourself that its
made of foam because it flies like its an ultra light Ukranian
model! The speed 400 that comes with the kit is adequate but I
strongly suggest going brushless. Then grab those thermals and
enjoy!
SUGGESTED BRUSHLESS UPGRADE:
Hyperion Y22L-3600
Titan 20A ESC
This motor bolts straight in to the gliders gearbox using the
existing pinion gear and provides near vertical performance on 2
lipo's or 7 NiMh cells.

Easy Star Electric, RTF
Key Features
Assembles in half an hour
Constructed from Elapor foam
Quiet Speed 400 motor installed
Overview
The Easy Star was designed for first time pilots in mind, and
offers incredibly stable flight characteristics and durability.
Powered by a powerful Speed 400 motor mounted on the top so hard
landing won't break the prop or hurt the motor. The Easy Star
flies with little input and has the ability to recover easily.
Made from Multiplex's durable "Elapor" foam, the Easy Star will
take a tremendous amount of abuse without breaking. And, if it
does break it is easily repaired with CA (super) glue. Even
after many crashes during the learning process, the Easy Star
will be ready for more and is sure to still around to teach
someone else to fly where other trainers would be ready for the
trash can!
